I heard a few rumours via the ol’ grape vine about a young ripper who could throw it down with the best of them. A few enquires later and it turned out the rumours where true. It seems that kids are still going full tilt at pretty much anything and this youngster is no exception. a brief bit of research was done and  I wondered why we don’t hear of him over here? So it seemed about time to correct the balance and show you good people a Rising star who could be one to put your money on in the future.

Ah I hear you ask…. that question. so I asked him. ” Who are you?”





1, Who are you?

My name is Sam Dueck and I’m 19 years old

2, Where do you live?

Chilliwack bc

3, What do you do for a living?

I ride my mountain bike or work for my dads hardwood flooring business.

4 Whats the best thing about your job?

The best part of my job is that I am able to travel all over the place and i get to meet a lot of cool people! And last but not least I get to ride my bike!!

5, And the worst?

The worst part about my job is injuries. I have a shoulder injury right now and it sucks!

6, What kind of riding do you do?

I do everything from cross country to free-ride but my favorite is dirt jumping and slope style!

7, You enjoy the odd contest or two don’t you?

I enjoy contests because I learn so much during a contest and I am forced to challenge myself.

8, Who do you ride for?

I ride for Norco performance bikes, Shimano, Kenda, Rockshox, WTB, Teva,, demon dirt, gravity, and 661.

9, Whats it like riding for Norco?

It’s awesome ridding for Norco they are such a great family company and have helped me out so much and are stoked with everything I do on my bike!

10, Who do you ride with?

I ride with everyone, and anyone who’s wants to ride a bike!

11, Where do you like to ride?

I like to ride Whistler mt bike park, Woodward west and my home trails and jumps!

12, when are you happiest?

I am happiest when I’m learning new tricks and making new friends!

13, what could you not do without?

I could not do with out my friends and family I would not be where I am with out them

14, When did you last scare yourself?

The last time I really scared myself was when I separated my shoulder from going over the handle bars on a Superman seat grab on a really big jump that was really scary!

15, Who inspires you?

Cam Mccaul Has always inspired me because of his mad skills on a bike and is super crazy and friendly personality

16, What are your weakness’s?

My weakness is definitely pushing my self to hard in practice before a contest and hurting myself.

17, What tunes do you like? I like just about everything from punk rock (Rise Against) to Country music!

18, Apart from riding, how do you relax?

When I’m not ridding I like to relax by listening to my iPod and work on my bikes or just hang out by the lake with my friends.

19, If you could meet anyone past or present, who would it be? If I could meet anyone past or present it would for sure be Jesus! That would be crazy!

20, Where would you like to go that you haven’t yet?

I would love to go over to New Zealand and Australia I have herd the biking over there is sick!

21, What does the future hold for you?

I have no idea what the future holds for me except for there is going to be lots if ridding, hiking, and traveling!

22, What would you like to see in comps?

I would like to see the riders help design the courses more often like the Redbull Joy Ride course in Whistle this year.

23, Whats the best advice you’ve been given?

Never give up and stay positive

24, Any funny stories you can tell us?

I honestly Can’t think of any funny stories at the moment, but I’m sure there is lots that will come to me.
