Go for it !
Taff buggy is a nice venue, the track is not to mental and they have chicken runs, and only 150 racers is a nice not to scary amount of people. i went from churchill in somerset about 120-180 racers to the dragons in wales, abercarn first, scared the piss out of me, then mountain ash where there where around 330 racers and worldcup names as well, really scared me that did ( and the locals set the hill on fire and where shooting at people), the mini dh series in the Forest Of Dean is aimed at newbies, but i would choose Taff buggy over that as the FOD has a 300 limit, and MIJ Taff has 150 riders, i would do the lot if i was still full time in somerset, bit of a drive from Grimsby. Check there website as they might have the odd uplift day, which is well worth doing to check out the track. If you go race post it up, i will try to get to one of them !

Oh yes !, no full face no racing, 3 years ago you could do local races without one, check there website should be rules of racing on there somewhere, but anything that has BC race points (if you have a race licence) you will have to meet BC requirements for racing.
Thats a full face helmet and no studs in your jacket. Shop around if you dont have one, one of the local shops down here has a sale of shop show helmets, no box chips in the paint but cheap, i got my giro for £60 because it had been the show one £100 rrp, that was a while ago mind. Bell bellastic's (got one of those) are about £70 rrp there are cheaper ones, have a look on chainreaction as they tend to have 661 lids cheap on there, i have seen brand new helmets on sale before for silly cheap money, i was going to get another bellastic a while back because i found them for £15, too small though, it's a case of looking. Oh and be very very carefull of second hand helmets. You wont know whats been done to it, really not worth chancing it if you can find a brand new one on the cheap, i dont recomend buying one.
