Right!
Got some new brakes (203mm/f & 180mm/r) , i'm in some confusion over mounts. I have IS mounts on the fork (Argyle 20mm thru) and bike frame. I think the mounts I need are IS to POST 203mm +20 & IS to POST 180. I have attached photos of mounts on the fork and bike and a pic of the brake calliper. help me Obi-wan. ![]()

Hello. what size disc did you run before? the argyles are'nt ment for 203 disc really but getting the 20mm step bracket if you're running 180/ 183 mm disc is the best plan. Have a look at www.windwave.co.uk. they sell a2z adatpers on their site.

you could also try bike fridge as an e-bay seller, they do lots of adaptors. nice new brakes - wish i could get some new anchors.

I'm running 160mm rotors at mo. Done a bit of research, the arglyes max rotor size is 210mm, so says the peps on the rock shox website.
So? i need to purchase an a2z IS to PM adaptor to take from 160mm up to a 203mm rotor, which i have found on www.windwave.co.uk (thankyou). I take it i purchase the one that says 'for frame' for the rear? cheers

203mm rotor at the front and 180mm rotor on the back, IS tabs on fork and frame. do i need a special mount for 20mm maxle axle?
For the rear will this work? http://www.tredz.co.uk/.A2Z-Internat...-5mm_17650.htm for the front will this work? http://www.allterraincycles.co.uk/product/118209.html Why do i find mounts so hard to understand ![]()

Axle size does'nt matter. The mounts look like they'll fit, but if in doubt e-mail windwave as they're normally helpful. It's a job to tell sometimes with mounts as sometimes there are odditys. Don't woorry i work in a bike shop and atill have "fun n games" working out brake monts. there needs to be more standardisation.

cheers ratchet, you've made me feel a little less usless.
for such a simple yet vital bit of kit there seems an awful lot of different terms and shapes and such knocking about.

emailed windwave. same mount for the front is a rotor is smaller on the back. here's what they said, for future ref.
The rear disc tab was originally produced for a 140mm rotor with direct calliper mount so a 200 front adaptor is a 180mm rear or 180mm front is a 160mm rear!

Been watching with interest ! and staying quiet.
You are not alone in matching up calipers to rotor size across differing brands that may not work together, it's a black art and the reason i still have old hope M4 calipers in direct mount IS fitting, cant change rotor size as the caliper is fixed to one size. Well i could size up if i wanted to the adapters are out there, as you are finding out "WHICH FECKING ONE WILL FIT" Damn manitou for post mount !
